What is a postpartum Doula?

  • A Doula is person whose job is to support another through a transitional phase of your life— in this case, the transition is from pregnancy to parenthood. My job is to help support you in whatever ways you feel you need and/or to help you figure that out!

    Daytime shifts can include:

  • house chores

  • running errands

  • troubleshooting (chest) feeding, soothing techniques, baby wrapping and wearing

  • holding space for big feelings and helping one or both parents process

  • connecting you to outside resources best fit for your needs and facilitating building community with other new parents

    Night Time shifts can include

  • accompanying baby at all times when parents are not present

  • sleeping in the room with baby so you can get a solid night’s sleep, care free

  • administering prescribed medications for baby and/or parent.

  • troubleshooting periods of sleep regression,

  • feeding, burping, diapering baby
