What is a postpartum Doula?
A Doula is person whose job is to support another through a transitional phase of your life— in this case, the transition is from pregnancy to parenthood. My job is to help support you in whatever ways you feel you need and/or to help you figure that out!
Daytime shifts can include:
house chores
running errands
troubleshooting (chest) feeding, soothing techniques, baby wrapping and wearing
holding space for big feelings and helping one or both parents process
connecting you to outside resources best fit for your needs and facilitating building community with other new parents
Night Time shifts can include
accompanying baby at all times when parents are not present
sleeping in the room with baby so you can get a solid night’s sleep, care free
administering prescribed medications for baby and/or parent.

feeding, burping, diapering baby
